As part of a collaborative project "Stories of Řetízkárna Through the Eyes of Students" organized by Novinářský inkubátor, I joined a group of 12 German and Czech students between November 2024 and June 2025 to collect and document life stories connected to the Czech communist labor camps. The project was based in Jáchymov, Czech Republic, where we met twice for on-site fieldwork and documentary presentation, complemented by several online meetings during which we designed the structure and narrative of the final documentary. The working groups conducted interviews with daughters of former political prisoners and a survivor, exploring how historical trauma continues to shape individual and collective memory. Throughout the project, participants took part in both theoretical and practical workshops on oral history, documentary filmmaking, trauma narratives, and memory work. My role also involved using transcription and AI-assisted translation tools to help convert Czech-language interviews into English. These contributions culminated in a collective documentary, presented at the Retizkárna Festival in 2025. Trailer of the documentary can be found here.

In August 2024, I participated in the Europe Lab “Changing Tides in Europe”, organized by the Civil Society Forum in Jáchymov, Czech Republic. As part of the program, participants had the opportunity to compete for one of two mini-grants to implement a collaborative project — one of which I successfully received together with two fellow participants. We developed the project "Re:Pair", aimed at supporting memory work around Jáchymov’s forced labor camps. In cooperation with the Czech NGO Political Prisoners.eu, we translated key educational materials about the history of Jáchymov’s communist-era labor camps into Russian, making them accessible to a broader audience. As part of the project, we also trained two volunteers as local guides, who later joined the Retízkárna Festival 2025 in Jáchymov, where they led experimental tours of former camp sites.

To cover additional budget items not funded by the initial grant, the partner NGO and I later independently secured supplementary funding from the Czech-German Future Fond (Zukunftsfonds). This experience gave me practical insights into grant writing, project management, reporting, and collaboration with NGOs, all within a transnational, memory-focused civil society framework.

Falling Walls Lab Bishkek was a local edition of the international science communication competition organized by the Falling Walls Foundation in Berlin. It provided a platform for young researchers, students, and entrepreneurs to present their ideas and projects in a three-minute pitch format. Selected winners advanced to the final event in Berlin as part of the Falling Walls Conference. In 2017, we launched the Lab in Bishkek and introduced the format to Kyrgyzstan for the first time. Between 2017 and 2019, I co-organized the event in Bishkek with the support of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), the American University of Central Asia, and the OSCE Academy in Bishkek. My responsibilities included fundraising, coordination, visual design, project management, and serving as event host. The role offered valuable insight into the intersection of science, public communication, and international collaboration.
